Math teachers need to search for new inventive ways for teaching mathematical concepts.  It is so sad that most students share that they do not enjoy mathematics.  If introduced in an unique manner, most students will remain focused and want to learn the concept at hand.  Since I began Globaloria, my mind has done flip flops with new ideas and ways to approach teaching and learning.  I can just imagine watching this video and then developing a space game incorporating the Pythagorean Theorem.

Why math should not be a four letter word …

Science/Technology/Engineering/Math, which one of these underpins all the others? Math of course, since it is in essence the language used to do ‘stuff’ in the worlds of science, technology and engineering. But the language of math is in trouble. Students arrive at college not prepared for the rigors of college-level mathematics courses. Many steer away from careers in areas that require math competency. Why is this so? Check out this video from the TED Talks and get one man’s take on the problem, as well as his suggested solution. You may be surprised how well his ideas mesh with the Globaloria program concepts.
